WEEKLY MEETINGS

Week 1 - 01/17/2024:

Began 10:00 AM

During our initial Project Design meeting, we covered the syllabus and discussed the requirements for the semester. We took a closer look at the work accomplished in the past week, addressing any challenges, particularly those related to shipping wait times for parts. The meeting concluded with a discussion about the planned schedule of work for the upcoming week.

Deliverables:

  • Update Engineering Specifications.

  • Transfer information from Design Proposal to Design Project links.

  • Continue to work on the construction of the capsule.

Adjourn 10:40 AM

Week 2 - 01/24/2024:

Began 10:00 AM

During this meeting, we went over the deliverables for last week. That includes reviewing the engineering specifications table with the new pressure sensor, the information transferred from the Design Proposal to the Design Project part of the website, and the capsule construction. Also, regarding the construction of the capsule, we went over the planning of where the copper pipes and the threaded rods should be located so that they won't interfere with each other. Much consideration was taken during this step to avoid making any mistakes that would render the parts unusable. Lastly, we discussed our goals for the next week.

Deliverables:

  • Add the measuring range of the pressure sensor to the Engineering Specifications table.

  • Continue to work on the construction of the capsule.

Adjourn 10:22 AM

Week 3 - 01/31/2024:

Began 10:00 AM

This week's meeting primarily focused on reviewing the progress made since our last gathering. We discussed any challenges encountered and the solutions implemented to overcome them. Additionally, we outlined the tasks planned for the upcoming week. This discussion ensured that everyone was aware of our current status and aligned with our future objectives.

Deliverables:

  • Complete the construction of the copper pipes and finalize the soldering work.

  • Drill a hole into the top plate to accommodate the entry of an Ethernet cable into the capsule where data and power will be introduced.

  • Conduct another pressure test to ensure the capsule's ability to maintain the desired pressure levels even after modifications.

Adjourn 10:17 AM

Week 4 - 02/07/2024:

No meeting was held this week but Leo and I connected to order some parts that were missing.

Week 5 - 02/14/2024:

Began 10:00 AM

During this meeting, we went over the progress made in the two previous weeks. We discussed how the copper pipes were soldered and the preliminary tests were done with the capsule to prove its water tightness. Also, we went over how the Raspberry Pi's were mounted to the backboard, each with its own cooling block and PoE Hat. A pressure sensor was also added to the capsule, being measured by the UI, to facilitate visually seeing any leaks.

Deliverables:

  • Mount all the remaining components to the backboard.

  • Integrate quick disconnects on the water loop.

  • Test the fitting of the components inside the capsule.

Adjourn 10:17 AM

Week 6 - 02/21/2024:

Began 10:02 AM

This week's meeting focused on reviewing the progress made since our last meeting. We discussed how the components were mounted to the backboard, and how the size of one of the fittings was too large to reasonably fit within the capsule. We planned to change that one fitting for a 90-degree fitting to create more space between the fitting and the capsule walls. Finally, we integrated the quick disconnects within the water loop to ensure no leakage would happen when the components were removed from inside the capsule.

Deliverables:

  • Manage all the wiring for the components.

  • Start doing tests to prove Engineering Requirements.

Adjourn 10:21 AM

Week 7 - 02/28/2024:

Began 10:01 AM

During this week's meeting, reviewed the progress made since our last meeting. We discussed how the wiring for the components was routed between the two backboards, how we configured the Raspberry Pi's LAN networks, how we briefly tested the capsule's water tightness by submerging it, and how we started testing the Engineering Requirements. We went over how a small leak was found in the ethernet cable and the measurements we would take to fix it. Also, we went over what would be the best approaches to test our remaining Engineering Requirements.

Deliverables:

  • Create 3D-printed brackets to hold the components to the backboards.

  • Continue doing tests to prove Engineering Requirements.

Adjourn 10:27 AM

Week 8 - 03/06/2024:

Began 10:01 AM

During this week's meeting, we went over the testing for the remaining Engineering Requirements. We tested the 1st High and Mid-level requirements, having failed only to record the time-lapse video, we still need to prove that requirement.

Deliverables:

  • Print the 3D parts.

  • Record time-lapse video.

  • Continue writing Report.

Adjourn 10:27 AM

Week 9 - 03/13/2024:

No meeting was held this week.

Week 10 - 03/20/2024:

Spring break week.

Week 11 - 03/27/2024:

Began 10:01 AM

This week we focused on going over chapters one and two of the Report. We took note of the necessary changes that needed to be made before meeting the following week.

Deliverables:

  • Finalize the remaining chapters of the report.

Adjourn 10:58 AM

Week 12 - 04/03/2024:

Deliverables:

  • Submit the finalized report.

  • Finalize the presentation.

Adjourn 4:28 PM
